Responsibility

Our Philosophy

We value living right. That means respecting our employees and treating them well, taking care of the environment, being an honest and transparent business partner, and becoming a trusted supplier to our clients. In short, we think doing good is good business.

Core Values

Our goal is to always be true to our core values in every touch point with our business partners, our employees and our customers.  Our core values are to be candid, motivational, hardworking, problem-solving experts in the diamond industry.

Responsibility is a Journey

Creating a responsible business requires a lot of focus and effort. Responsibility encompasses a vast array of social, human rights, and environmental issues. We are looking at every aspect of our business and asking questions. If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that responsibility is definitely a journey, and not a destination.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

We needed a thoughtful path forward to responsibility. One that we knew we could make progress on, that had substance, and that could be completely honest. The UN Sustainable Development Goals are that guide for Clarity Diamond.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals  (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

These are 17 goals to transform the world. They are practical, actionable, and can be embraced by individuals, families, businesses, and communities.

From buying clean power from the City of Austin (Goal #7) to income equality (Goal #10) to providing a good wages (Goal #8) to selecting our suppliers carefully (Goal #12), we use the Goals to guide our behavior.

Using the Goals as our responsibility guide works for us. We like that we are working in alignment with the largest international movement to create a  better, more sustainable life for everyone on the planet.

We like the fact that we can identify goals we want to work on, make progress, achieve new goals, and then identify new ways to improve.

The Goals are more durable and relatable than a rule book and more honest than assurance schemes. As we make choices in our business, we look to the Goals to stay mindful and make choices in alignment with these principles.

As the SDGs increasingly gain profile, many companies have already aligned their business practices to the Goals. We all know it is important for companies to lead with purpose, and that for company purpose to matter, it must align with the personal. The SDGs were desgined to inspire collective action.

Taking collective action on global issues brings us closer individually, in our companies, and as an industry. Download the list of SDGs for yourself, and start imagining what steps you, your family, and your company can take.
